I started Mooky (in collaboration with my daughter, Amalia, then aged 4) in 2010, with an aspiration to provide stylish kids shoes with all the features that we look for as a parent - affordability, versatility, durability, oh and did i say gorgeability? I chose the moccasin design for the launch range as i had grown up wearing these, brought home from trips to the U.S and I loved them. I can’t think of a more versatile shoe. I find that younger kids love them because they look just like mum and dads, and they're perfect for the tweeny age, as they're a little grown-up without being precocious. Mooky then introduced the Suede Kicker to its range - a smart boot for both boys and girls with an edgy orange sole; the pretty Ankle-Strap Ballet and Dazzlingly sparkly Glitter Flat. Perfect for prancing around in the summer sun! We have recently expanded our size range to include some womens sizes for the Tween/Teen market who have jumped onboard the Mooky range. The nickname ‘Mooky’ was given to me by a great childhood friend. I may have inherited some genetic tendency with the founding of Mooky: my aunt is Double Bay shoe Designer Jane Blundell; and my great-grandparents founded and ran Australian footwear company Abbey Shoes for 50 years. I hope Mooky shoes embellish your joyful little souls.
